Welcome to The Earth Day Summit 2023. I hope you can join us as we explore climate issues, actions, and solutions with industry experts, including, press, scientists, policymakers, NGO's, and conscious consumers alike, on April 21st, 2023 WITH OUR LA CHAPTER at the California Market Center.
MY NAME IS ASHLEIGH MORGAN FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT OF RECYCLE2RICHES. A NONPROFIT THAT IS CHANGING THE CULTURE OF CONSUMPTION. THE EARTH DAY SUMMIT IS OUR ANNUAL FUNDRAISER. Our Earth Day Summit is held in an industrial indoor space with spectacular views of Downtown Los Angeles and modern amenities.
The California Market Center is located at: 110 E 9th Street LA CA 90079
The Check-In Desk will be located in The Loft event space on Floor 10C of Building C.
PARKING: There is underground parking available at the Main Garage with two entrances located on either 972 South Main St or 957 South Los Angeles St. You must pull a ticket to park and the maximum daily rate is $20.00!
If you have an electric vehicle, there are EV Charging Stations available for use. You must download the ChargePoint app on your phone to use these stations. Please note that the first two hours of charging are free, with every hour after being $5/hour.
If you are using a ride share app, use the address 155 East Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015 to be dropped off at Building C’s Lobby doors. From the Lobby, you will take the elevators straight up to the 10th floor to check-in.
Taking the Metro? There is a bus stop at the corner of Main Street and 9th Street that is just steps away from the CMC.

Pentené MILNER
Pentené Milner is a Wardrobe Healer and Style-Wellness Coach who effectively used her style as an act of self-love to restore and strengthen the relationship within herself to fulfill her dreams. This became part of her success story after enduring a tumultuous time in her life that became the beginning of her spiritual enlightenment and healing path. Soon after, she founded Journey Your Style which is powered by the Wardrobe Healing Experience® (a Service and Spiritual Brand). The Wardrobe Healing Experience® empowers the healing woman to use her style as a wellness tool to restore the relationship within herself and create the life of her dreams. This is an experience that does not just focus on the outward appearance, but importantly, to help women heal her inner self so she feels safe in her own body and uses her clothing as a beautiful expression of her life.
CLEMENTINA MARTINEZ-MASARWEH
Clementina is the founder of Vida Vert Sustainable Film Festival and DNA Sustainable Threds. As a Latina multimedia artist and award winning filmmaker, her focus is on bringing awareness to diverse voices while amplifying the message of sustainability. She uses her art, fashion and films to inspire and move culture as a leader in her field. Her couture eco fashion has been worn on the Red and Green Carpets in USA and internationally, along with shown on runways in NYC, Chicago and Mexico, utilizing plants, wood and deadstock fabric in her designs. As a storyteller she has produced award winning films like Upcyclers: Fashion's Climate Frontliners, Vida Vert and recently directed Ropa Nunca Muere: Clothes Last Forever.
CORINNE BROTHERS
Corinne is the Founder and Owner of Rule Design & Development. Corinne started Rule DD in 2018 as a design consultant and pattern-drafter, and has since grown the company to offer full-package design, development, and production services to designer brands across the US. Corinne loves working with clients, hearing their ideas and helping bring their vision to life, and collaborating the Rule DD team. Corinne teaches pattern-drafting at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in downtown Los Angeles. Outside of Rule DD, Corinne has designed for independent film, devised theater and dance, wearable art installations, and slow-fashion brands.
Ashleigh Dawson
ASHLEIGH DAWSON
Ashleigh Dawson started her environmental advocacy work while pursuing her internships in Los Angeles, California. Ashleigh started learning about overproduction and the broken linear economy we have today. At 18 and with a vision, she created Recycle2Riches.org! Her main goal with this non-profit is to transform the culture of consumption on a global scale. As the President of R2R, she believes that the world needs to work towards a circular economy along with a closed loop lifestyle.
She is also the curator of the Earth Day Summit; an annual one-day climate action event that makes Earth Day Every Day for all involved.
Ash is inspired by the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals. She is currently focusing on circularity and becoming a leader in ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governances).

Sandra Hanns
Sandra Acevedo Hanns is a visionary pioneer in sustainability and media education. As the Creator and Producer of iGreenMediaGroup.com and its Divisions, she has promoted sustainable and holistic businesses through live and virtual events. Her journey as an environmentalist began with co-founding Earth Day San Francisco Festival in 2010, where she dedicated a stage to empower young leaders to voice their vision and commitment to peace and sustainability.
Ms. Hanns' tireless efforts to raise awareness about toxins and chemicals in daily life are inspiring. In addition, she's a Climate Reality Project Certified Leader, Speaker & Mentor at Vice President Al Gore's organization, and an Advisory Board member at the Middle East Fashion Council in Dubai. In 2021 she launched the first high school students worldwide Environmental Writing and Journalism Leadership Program to discover & write about the climate urgency & crisis, promoting solutions to preserve life and Mother Earth's future.
After experiencing COVID in 2022, Sandra, a dedicated environmentalist, realized the importance of financial stability for providing security and peace of mind to loved ones and herself. She's now a Holistic Financial Educator on a mission to educate and empower 30 million families in the USA and Canada through a Financial Literacy Campaign. Protecting families' finances is unknown to many. Sandra is inviting those looking to make a difference and join the future of the financial industry. The invitation is to join her to protect our families financial well-being and achieve financial independence through smart and dedicated leadership. Attending the Earth Day Summit 2023 in Los Angeles was an exceptional and inspiring experience. The summit brought together numerous leaders in the sustainability industry, organizations focused on reducing waste, and those creating sustainable spaces in the fashion sector, as well as addressing injustices within the retail industry. Ashleigh Dawson , the founder of Recycle2Riches, delivered a great speech on the resources available and the power of collaboration to drive circularity in retail.
The event had clothing repair booths, panel discussions led by sustainability experts, and networking opportunities with like-minded individuals. Clementina “The Sustainable Latina” Martinez-Masarweh , the founder of Vida Vert Sustainable Film Festival and DNA Sustainable Threds, delivered a powerful speech highlighting the intersections of art, fashion, and film, and the need for diversity within the sustainability movement.
Pentené M. , the founder of Journey Your Style, provided an insightful perspective on the healing potential of wardrobe and style, emphasizing the role of clothing in fostering personal growth and wellness. Corinne Brothers, founder and owner of Rule Design & Development, offered a fresh take on circularity in design, discussing the repurposing of large fabrics from companies to reduce waste.
The panel discussion was skillfully moderated by Sandra Hanns, creator, and producer of iGreenMediaGroup.com and its Divisions, who asked detailed questions and focused on the intersections of sustainability and finance. Recycle2Rich's mission is to change the culture of consumption. As a 5o1(c)(3) nonprofit we are able to facilitate communication, collaboration, and education within our community and beyond.
The mission of our annual R2R Earth Day Summit is to bring communities together to both educate and remind those in attendance of the urgency of our climate crisis and provide courses of action they can take to implement change in their lifestyles. As our biggest event of the year, the summit acts as our annual fundraiser.
